Human Rights Watch Reports: 40 Israeli Attacks on Syria and Detention of 8 People

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that at least⁤ 40 Israeli‍ regime incursions into various parts of Syria⁤ occurred last month, resulting in the detention of eight Syrian civilians.

The ⁢English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and al Mayadeen, reported that the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented the highest level of escalation by the Israeli regime in southern Syria during October.

the Observatory stated that southern syria ‌witnessed the most intense flare-up of Israeli tensions ⁣in recent ⁣months throughout October. Israeli forces conducted 40 infiltration operations across Quneitra and Daraa provinces.

These operations involved entering villages and⁤ towns, establishing temporary checkpoints, conducting searches and raids, destroying land, opening new roads, and planting⁣ mines. Together, intensified flights by airplanes and drones maintained constant alert along the border strip with occupied golan ⁢Heights by Israeli military forces.

The human rights association added that these activities led to the arrest⁤ of eight individuals, including one student⁢ who was later released.

According to the report, these actions are part of Israel’s efforts to impose a new security and military reality in the buffer zone under a project known as “Sofa 53,” which extends from Umm al-Atham and Qahtaniyah to the slopes of Jabal al-Sheikh.

The report further notes ⁣that October marked both the most ⁤severe and frequent⁢ month for ⁢Israeli violations against southern syria in recent⁢ times.

Israeli‌ regime violations against Syria continue amid complete silence from Golani authority governance.
