UNRWA: Education Resumes in Gaza Despite Displacement of Residents

According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Palestinian Shihab news agency via Mehr News Agency, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) stated that it is indeed expanding educational spaces in refugee centers across Gaza as part of efforts to gradually restart education after the recent conflict.
The statement confirmed that approximately 8,000 teachers and instructors have been working sence August 2024 to resume education despite extensive damage to schools and educational infrastructure.
UNRWA reported it has set up 485 temporary learning spaces in 67 refugee centers and is increasing these facilities to ensure displaced children can continue their studies.
The agency also activated remote learning programs reaching more than 300,000 boys and girls throughout Gaza.
Currently, only a few schools remain operational amid hosting hundreds of thousands of displaced people, which severely disrupts regular classes.
Palestinians are striving to gradually restore education through makeshift classrooms under tents and voluntary initiatives to keep hope alive for young learners despite blockade conditions and widespread devastation.
Simultaneously occurring, the Gaza Child Protection Fund reported that over one million children still lack sufficient water and food even after a ceasefire. Thousands go hungry every night.
