2,000 PKK Members Join SDF

According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Russia Today, Turkish media, quoting security sources, have reported that nearly 2,000 members of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) have joined the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) as early this year.
The sources added that Turkey’s intelligence service plans to submit a detailed report on this matter to the relevant parliamentary commission.
This news comes shortly after the PKK announced it had ended its activities inside turkey.
The party also confirmed that its members are leaving Turkey and relocating to northern Iraq. Some have already moved from border areas in Turkey to the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, with others expected to follow if Turkey remains committed to the peace process.
Notably, on February 27, 2025, abdullah Öcalan-the leader of the PKK-issued a statement urging party members to lay down their arms, hold a congress, and dissolve the organization. Afterward, PKK declared it held its twelfth congress from May 5-7 and decided on self-dissolution.
