Israeli Knesset Security Committee Approves Death Penalty for Palestinian Prisoners

According to the English section of webangah news Agency, citing Mehr News Agency via the Palestine Details Center, Israeli media reported that on Monday, Israel’s Knesset Security Committee approved a draft law permitting the execution of Palestinian prisoners. The bill has now been referred to the full Knesset for final consideration and approval.
If passed, this law would authorize Israeli authorities to impose the death penalty on Palestinians accused of carrying out anti-Israeli operations.
Itamar Ben-Gvir, Israel’s far-right Minister of National Security, welcomed the decision and thanked Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for supporting the legislation. Ben-Gvir asserted that judges should not have any say over this law and insisted that executions of Palestinians must be carried out without hesitation.
