Hamas: Approval of Execution for Palestinian Prisoners Reveals Israel’s Fascist Face

According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and the Palestinian Shehab news agency, Hamas issued a statement condemning the approval of a draft bill permitting death sentences for Palestinian prisoners held by the Israeli regime. The group said that this draft law’s passage by the Knesset’s Internal Security Committee and its referral for a final vote reflects “the ugly, fascist face of the Zionist occupiers” and their persistent violation of international laws, especially humanitarian provisions under Article III of the Geneva Convention.
The statement emphasized: “We call on the United Nations, the international community, and relevant legal and humanitarian bodies to take immediate action to stop this brutal crime. International committees should be formed to access detention centers, assess conditions faced by Palestinian prisoners, expose atrocities occurring under official supervision of occupation authorities there, and work toward their immediate release.”
Israeli media reported that today, Monday, Israel’s Knesset Security Committee approved a draft law allowing capital punishment for Palestinians accused of carrying out anti-Zionist operations. The bill has now been referred to a plenary session for final approval.
If enacted into law, it would authorize Israeli authorities to impose death sentences on Palestinians accused in such cases.
