Part of Medieval Tower Collapses in Central Rome, Italy + Video

According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Alsumaria News, a portion of a medieval tower in Italy has collapsed. The affected structure is the Conti Tower located in central Rome.
The sources reported that on Monday, during renovation work near the Colosseum, part of the tower under reconstruction fell, seriously injuring one worker who was hospitalized.
Rome’s fire department confirmed that rescue teams are engaged in efforts to extract four individuals trapped under the rubble.
The 29-meter (95-foot) Torre di Conti is situated on Via dei Fori Imperiali, a broad avenue connecting Piazza Venezia to the Colosseum. The collapse occurred there.
City officials stated that this building had been unused sence 2006 but was undergoing a four-year restoration project scheduled for completion next year.
videos shared on social media show clouds of dust billowing from the tower’s windows as debris fell with audible crashes.
Due to ongoing restoration work, pedestrian access around the tower had been restricted. The building was originally constructed by pope Innocent III for his family in the early 13th century.
