Sudani: International Coalition Will Withdraw from Iraq by September 2026

According to the English section⁣ of webangah News ⁢Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Reuters, Iraqi Prime ‍Minister Mohammed Shia’ Al⁢ Sudani said on Monday that Baghdad has committed to placing all weapons under government control. However, this ⁣will ⁣not be ​feasible while the US-led coalition remains in the country.

The prime minister stated that⁢ plans for⁢ the complete withdrawal of ‌the multinational coalition from ‌Iraq by September‌ 2026 remain ongoing.

As ‍reported by Al Jazeera, ⁤Mohammed Shia’ Al Sudani said: “We have a balanced relationship with Washington based on mutual interests; we are not a sphere of influence. Iraq’s interests come first, and we will not allow ​any party ⁢to drag Baghdad into war. Only ‍the government holds decision-making power.”
