Duffy: Continued Government Shutdown Will Close Parts of U.S. Airspace

According to the English section of webangah News Agency, quoting Al Jazeera via Mehr News Agency, U.S.Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said on Tuesday that if the government shutdown persists, parts of the country’s airspace may have to be closed.
duffy added that if the shutdown continues for another week, complete chaos would ensue in air transportation. The shutdown has worsened shortages among air traffic controllers.
He also warned that entering the holiday season amid a shutdown will disrupt travel plans.
The U.S. government shutdown entered its 35th day, making it the longest in American history.
Many public services remain suspended; federal employees are on mandatory leave and airports are experiencing disruptions.
On Monday, the Trump administration agreed to use emergency funds to provide low-cost meals to over 42 million low-income families.
No solution has yet emerged to end this deadlock.
The federal government officially shut down on October 1, halting operations across large parts of various agencies.
this marks President Trump’s first government shutdown during his second term.
The initial phase targeted non-essential services including federally funded parks and museums. Subsequently, thousands of federal employees deemed “non-essential” were placed on furlough-exceeding 587,000 workers so far.
Twelve attempts in Congress to reopen the government have failed amid standoffs between Democrats and Republicans holding firm on their positions.
Democratic lawmakers say they will not support reopening unless Republicans negotiate extending healthcare subsidies; simultaneously occurring, Republicans refuse discussions until after reopening occurs.
