Colombian President Proposes Qatar Emir as Mediator in Caribbean Crisis
Colombian President proposes Qatar’s Emir mediate to ease ongoing military tensions in the Caribbean.
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Anadolu, Colombian President gustavo Petro offered Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of Qatar, to mediate between involved parties in order to reduce current military tensions in the Caribbean region.
The Colombian president wrote on social media platform X: “I spoke with the Emir of Qatar and asked him to mediate with Trump to ease tensions. We are the most prosperous government worldwide in detecting and seizing cocaine.”
On November 21, 2024, the Emir of Qatar made an official visit to Colombia, during which he signed numerous bilateral agreements with President Petro.
