U.S. Imposes New Sanctions on North Korea

The U.S. Treasury Department has imposed new sanctions on North Korea.
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News agency and Reuters, the U.S. Treasury Department on Tuesday sanctioned eight individuals and two entities accused of involvement in various cyber money laundering schemes connected to North Korea.
The Treasury Department stated that this measure aims to cut funding for North Korea’s weapons programs.
John Herlihy, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Terrorist Financing and Financial Crimes at the U.S. Treasury, said in a statement: “These individuals generate revenue for Pyongyang’s weapons development, directly threatening the security of the United States and the world.”
