U.S. Imposes New Sanctions on North Korea

According to​ the English section of webangah⁣ News Agency, citing Mehr News agency⁤ and Reuters, the U.S. Treasury Department on ​Tuesday sanctioned eight‍ individuals and two entities accused of involvement in various cyber money laundering schemes connected to North⁣ Korea.

The Treasury Department ‌stated that this measure aims to cut funding for North Korea’s weapons⁤ programs.

John⁤ Herlihy, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Terrorist Financing and Financial Crimes at the U.S. Treasury, said in a statement: “These ⁣individuals generate revenue for Pyongyang’s weapons development, directly threatening⁢ the security of the United States and ‍the world.”
