Lebanon Reacts to Trump Envoy’s Interference on Israel Ties
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Russia Today via Mehr News Agency, Lebanese Defense Minister Michel Mansi rejected claims by Trump’s envoy about direct communication between Lebanon’s president adn the Israeli regime’s prime minister, emphasizing that such a matter is categorically out of the question.
Mansi added that the so-called Mechanism Commitee, established to implement and monitor the ceasefire agreement, is moving toward playing a role in indirect negotiations with Tel Aviv aimed at securing stability and security along Lebanon’s southern borders.
The minister stated that the first phase of consolidating state monopoly over weapons will be carried out in southern Lebanon-from the Litani River to the borders-and is expected to be completed before year-end.
Addressing Israeli violations, Mansi affirmed that the Lebanese army remains committed to defending national sovereignty and must receive full support for its military capabilities.
