Russia Demands Explanation from U.S. on Resuming Nuclear Tests
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and the Russian news agency TASS, Dmitry Peskov stated that Russia is awaiting an official clarification from the United States following President Trump’s comments suggesting a possible resumption of nuclear tests.
Peskov said, “We seek clarification from the United States as neither Russia nor China has conducted any nuclear tests. At this moment, we cannot precisely determine what President Trump meant.”
He emphasized that Russia and China remain committed to their obligations under the Extensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty.
Recently, Donald Trump claimed that the US should not fall behind Russia and China in nuclear capabilities and thus ordered a restart of nuclear weapons testing.
