Member of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Party Assassinated in Pakistan

According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Dawn News, a Pakistani police officer confirmed that Hafiz Maulana Abdul Salam Arif, a member of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) provincial council, was shot dead by unidentified assailants on motorcycles.
The incident occurred in Charsadda district of khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, Pakistan.
Investigation Officer Safdar Khan stated that the JUI member was attacked by two armed suspects on motorcycles as he was returning home after praying at a mosque.
“The incident is under thorough investigation from all possible angles,” said the officer. Police have collected evidence from the crime scene and summoned expert teams to assist in the inquiry.
