Health Official Reports 58,000 Children Orphaned in Gaza War

Dr.Ahmad Al-Farra described the humanitarian situation in Gaza after the ceasefire ⁢as⁢ still ⁣catastrophic,⁢ stating that⁣ over 58,000‌ Palestinian children have been orphaned during the war.

According⁣ to​ the English section of webangah News ⁤Agency, citing Mehr news Agency quoting the Palestinian Information Center, Dr. Ahmad Al-Farra, ⁣head of Pediatrics and Obstetrics at⁣ Nasser Medical Complex​ in Khan Younis, told Al-Aqsa Network that ​as the ceasefire ‌was declared, an additional 226 ​people have been killed.​ Hospitals continue ⁤to receive new casualties daily, indicating that conditions on the ground remain close to active conflict.

He identified one of the most heartbreaking issues after the⁣ war as⁢ “the‌ case of orphans,”​ highlighting it as one⁣ of Gaza’s most severe​ humanitarian consequences.

Al-Farra reported that⁢ 58,000 children have been registered ‍as orphans during this conflict. Among ⁢them, 5,000 children lost their fathers and‌ 4,200 lost their mothers.

He emphasized ⁤that⁣ Nasser Hospital faces daily distressing cases involving⁣ sick ‌children-including those suffering from cancer-whose psychological, medical, and ⁤family situations have become⁤ deeply elaborate due to ‌wartime conditions.

Al-Farra noted there are more than 500 ‌cancer patients in Gaza who‌ lack access to​ specialized treatment as of blockades and drug ⁢shortages. Many‌ urgently need⁤ transfer outside⁤ Gaza for continued ​care.

He called for immediate provision of⁤ vital cancer medications and reopening travel routes for medical treatment ⁢abroad. He warned⁣ that if this crisis persists, hundreds of patients’ lives will be at imminent risk.
