United Nations: Situation in Sudan Is Dire

According to the english section of webangah News Agency, citing Al Jazeera and Mehr News Agency, the UN Deputy High Commissioner for Refugees reported that 7 million people have been displaced within Sudan.
Referring to the dire circumstances in Sudan, he emphasized: ”We are witnessing a sharp increase in violence. The situation is very bad, and we are deeply concerned about civilians trapped in fasher.”
He added that without international support, much cannot be achieved. “We must expand our circle of supporters because host communities for refugees are also in desperate conditions.”
The Deputy High commissioner described the prolonged and distressing displacement experiences shared with the UN as horrific.
He stressed: “Seventy percent of the women we spoke with have suffered sexual violence.”
