U.S. Removes Julani’s Name from Sanctions List

US State Department spokesperson announced that the ​State and ‍Treasury Departments have removed Abu Mohammad ⁣Jolani from the Specially Designated Global Terrorists⁢ list.

According to the English section of webangah News⁣ agency, citing Mehr‍ News Agency, Tommy Pigut,⁢ Deputy Spokesperson of the US State Department, stated⁤ that on November 6, the⁢ united Nations Security Council⁣ adopted a resolution initiated by the United States to remove⁤ Ahmad al-Shara and Anas Hassan Khattab, ⁣Syria’s Interior Minister, from ⁣sanctions lists.

He⁢ added that today Secretary of State has decided to delist Ahmad al-Shara-known as Mohammad Jolani-from the Specially Designated Global ⁤Terrorist (SDGT) list under Executive Order 13224. Additionally, the⁤ US Treasury Department‍ will remove Anas Hassan Khattab from the SDGT list‍ pursuant to the ⁢same executive order ‌with subsequent amendments.
