Nabih Berri: No Normalization with the Zionist Regime

according to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency, Nabih Berri, Speaker of Lebanon’s Parliament, told Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper that normalization with the israeli regime is not on the table.
He added, “Anyone seeking normalization must understand that it is impossible. I continue to insist on my position regarding a mechanism involving all parties-Lebanon, israel, the United States, France, and the United Nations.”
Berri emphasized that if needed, civilian experts could assist as they did in 2000 when demarcating the Blue Line border; geological and surveying specialists were also consulted then.
The parliament speaker stressed that threats and attacks from Israel will not change Lebanon’s stance on this matter.
Regarding the government’s draft election law, Berri stated he has yet to receive it. He will clarify his position once he reviews the draft.
The Lebanese government previously approved a draft law canceling six parliamentary seats allocated to expatriates and allowing them to vote according to their electoral records at their place of residence abroad.
Berri called for implementing the current parliamentary election law, affirming its technical and legal validity. He expressed surprise at some political groups attempting to backtrack from previous positions due to what he described as “pointless maneuvers.”
