The Self-reliant High Electoral Commission of Iraq announced yesterday that it is fully prepared to conduct the parliamentary elections with coordination from relevant security agencies.
The commission stated that the election silence period began at 7 a.m. today and will continue until all voting concludes.
The statement emphasized that any advertising activities by candidates or electoral lists during this time constitute a clear violation of regulations and legal action will be taken against offenders.
The commission stressed that the purpose of this election silence is to create a calm environment where voters can freely consider their choices without last-minute influence or campaigning before selecting their representatives.
Special voting-for those unable to vote on regular days such as armed forces members-will take place on Sunday, November 9 starting at 7 a.m. General voting will follow after special voting and begin at 7 a.m. on Tuesday,November 11.
