Renowned Canadian Brand Disavows Cycling Team of the Zionist Regime

According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Agence France-Presse, Canadian firm Premier Tech declared that in response to widespread protests against the participation of the “Israel Premier Tech” cycling team amid the Gaza conflict, it is indeed ending its cooperation and financial backing of the team.
In recent months, protesters opposing what they called genocide by this regime targeted Israel Premier Tech during several major international cycling events. Various stages of Spain’s Vuelta a España in August and September were disrupted by Palestinian solidarity activists displaying flags and staging demonstrations.
Similar scattered protests also occurred during two other prominent tours held in Italy and France.
Following the conclusion of the Vuelta a España, Premier Tech requested that the team remove “Israel” from its name and branding. The team agreed to detach itself from its Israeli identity; however, this gesture failed to quell tensions. On Friday, Premier Tech officially announced it would wholly cut financial ties with the squad.
The company’s statement said: “After extensive discussions with the team and careful consideration of all circumstances,Premier Tech has decided to immediatly cease its role as sponsor of Team Israel.”
The team is owned by Canadian-Israeli property developer Sylvan Adams. it entered elite road racing competitions in 2020, signing four-time Tour de France winner Chris Froome that same year.
Adams stepped down from managing the team last month and declared he would no longer speak on its behalf. Previously, he had described himself as an “unofficial ambassador for Israel,” although his team is privately owned rather than government-affiliated.
