A magnitude 6.8 earthquake struck off the coast of Iwate prefecture, Japan, triggering a tsunami warning for the area.
the US geological survey reported today, Sunday, that a 6.8-magnitude earthquake occurred off the coast of Iwate Prefecture in Japan.
The epicenter was located approximately 1,126 kilometers east of Yamada and struck at a depth of about 10 kilometers.
following the quake, the Japan meteorological Agency issued a tsunami warning for Iwate Prefecture.
