Behind Israel’s Attacks on Lebanon and Its Push to Disarm the Resistance

According to the English section of webangah News agency, citing Al-Manar via Mehr News Agency, Hussein Jishi, a member of the parliamentary faction affiliated with Hezbollah in Lebanon, emphasized that Israel’s attacks on resistance forces, civilians, engineering units, and positions near army barracks in Kfardounine demonstrate that this regime makes no distinction between military and civilian targets.
He added that through these attacks, Israel aims to push Lebanon toward new negotiations aiming to cancel the 2024 ceasefire agreement. This would allow them to repeat last year’s crimes against Lebanon. Their goal is also to impose security and political conditions on Lebanon and pave the way for an American-Zionist project designed to control the region and plunder its resources.
Jishi stated that under this project, regional nations will become workers and servants of America and Israel. Any hope for resistance or standing firm against oppressors will be extinguished. He noted U.S. envoy Tom Barrack once said one side wants dominance while the other must accept it can do little else. Washington’s and Tel Aviv’s insistence on disarming the resistance aligns with this plan because these weapons enabled liberation from occupation in 1982 and today remain the main obstacle against Israel’s illusory Greater Israel scheme.
He questioned whether Hezbollah is a terrorist organization or those who have brought their military equipment more than 10,000 kilometers away into our region? The resistance will never succumb to threats from America or israel.
