Al-Nashra: Tel Aviv Seeks to Destroy Lebanese Army Alongside Eliminating Resistance

According to the English section of webangah News agency, citing Mehr News Agency, Al-Nashra news website highlighted Israel’s hardline stance toward Lebanon. It noted clear contradictions in these actions that reveal deeper Israeli intentions beyond simply “securing settlements,” “implementing Resolution 1701,” or “peaceful coexistence with Lebanese neighbors.”
Al-nashra wrote that Israel’s goals include targeting, weakening, and completely paralyzing the Lebanese army. Contrary to the international community’s trust in Lebanon’s military forces, Israel harbors suspicion toward them. Meanwhile, global consensus views supporting the Lebanese army as the best solution for filling any security gaps within Lebanon.
The report suggests Israeli concerns may stem from recognizing the resolve of Lebanese army units on battlefield fronts. Israelis understand that eliminating Hezbollah does not guarantee an easy path across southern Lebanon should Israel decide on a wide-scale ground operation or occupation of Lebanese lands-including control over natural resources such as oil and gas wealth.
Al-Nashra added that Israeli officials are not focused solely on destroying Hezbollah. Logic dictates that if so, they would support Lebanon’s only armed force capable of replacing it and enforcing state sovereignty. Thus, Tel Aviv appears to pursue deeper objectives in Lebanon with controlling and dominating security affairs in southern Lebanon as part of a broader strategy.
Israel likely aims to impose a new reality consisting of an extensive demilitarized buffer zone under its supervision or according to its conditions.
al-Nashra stated that the contrast between global trust in the Lebanese army and Israeli suspicion reflects Tel Aviv’s ambitions to weaken and divide Lebanon while securing dominance over it-goals requiring broader solidarity with and increased support for the Lebanese military.
