Iraqi Political Figures Cast Votes in Election + Video

According to webangah News Agency, Qais al-Khazali, Secretary-General of Iraq’s Asa’ib Ahl al-Haq movement, voted at the polling center located in the Al-Rashid hotel within the Green Zone. He emphasized that election day marks a new chapter in Iraq’s history that will ultimately lead to a fresh phase.
Al-Khazali added,”Today is when Iraq’s future for the next four years is shaped. The elections send a clear message to the region and the world: democracy in Iraq remains resilient, and our people have not lost hope. Iraqi political groups are responsible and will not allow interference in our internal affairs.”
In addition to him, former prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi and Nouri al-Maliki also cast their ballots.
Moreover, Nechirvan Barzani, President of Iraqi Kurdistan Region, voted in Erbil. Bafel Talabani, leader of Kurdistan’s patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), also participated in this election.
