Trump Accuses Chinese and French Students of Espionage
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency, Donald Trump told Fox News in an interview that chinese students spy on the United States and steal its ideas and innovations. However,he added they are still better than the French.
He continued, “You think the French are better than the Chinese. I’m not sure they are.”
The U.S. Department of education reports that nearly one-quarter of international students in America come from China.
For decades, American universities have attracted top Chinese talent. The number of chinese students in U.S. institutions reached over 372,000 during the 2019-2020 academic year but fell to more than 270,000 by 2023-2024 due to the COVID-19 pandemic and rising tensions between the two countries.
