Al-Fayyadh: We Hope to See a New Phase Begin in Iraq

The head of Iraq’s Popular Mobilization forces expressed hope for a new phase by participating in the country’s parliamentary elections.
Faleh al-Fayyadh, head of Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Forces, emphasized during his visit to a polling station in Baghdad: “We hope this election will mark the beginning of a new phase towards stability and advancement.”
Since this morning, 7,768 candidates have launched their campaigns to compete for seats in the Iraqi parliament.
According to reports, 5,520 of these candidates are men while 2,248 are women.
Additionally, 21 million Iraqis are eligible to vote in this election to determine the owners of the parliament’s 329 seats.
