Islamic Jihad Pledges Support for Prisoners Against Zionist Atrocities
The Islamic Jihad movement in Palestine reacted to the preliminary approval of a draft law imposing the death penalty on Palestinian prisoners in Israeli prisons by the Israeli knesset.According to webangah News Agency, citing Palestinian Shehab news Agency, this move follows accusations against Palestinian prisoners of “terrorism” in what it called “fascist courts” operated by Israel. The movement described it as a provocative and criminal act constituting part of an ongoing genocide and systematic cleansing campaign carried out by Israel against the Palestinian people.
In its statement, Islamic Jihad said this law reveals the fundamental nature of the Israeli regime-rooted in racism, oppression, and injustice-and confirms that all its institutions, including the knesset and judicial system, serve as criminal tools used to persecute Palestinians.
The statement further noted that while Israeli security forces, military units, and settlers kill Palestinians without accountability or trial, this legislation seeks to establish a dual legal system in the West Bank. It punishes Palestinians while granting full immunity to settlers and occupiers.
Islamic jihad praised statements from organizations and governments condemning this latest criminal act. it called for serious measures to contain these escalating crimes alongside legal prosecution of cabinet ministers and Knesset members who supported passing this legislation. The movement demands they face international courts on charges of incitement to war crimes.
Emphasizing that Palestinian prisoners held by Israel are entrusted responsibilities toward their nation, Islamic Jihad vowed that resistance forces will exhaust every effort possible for their release. It urged Palestinians to intensify all forms of resistance against a regime whose moral depravity and inhuman character grow more apparent every day.
