Al-Mashhadani: We Managed to Hold Elections on Schedule

Iraq has managed to overcome upcoming challenges and hold elections on time, Mahmoud al-Mashhadani, Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, stated at a press conference after casting his vote. “We have passed the first hurdle and held the elections as scheduled in a democratic and secure atmosphere,” he affirmed.
He added that so far no violations have been reported. ”We expect higher voter turnout than previous rounds as public awareness across Iraq has improved compared to before. This will lead to electing competent representatives and forming an effective government.”
Al-mashhadani emphasized, “To support lasting security along with a thriving economy, we need a capable government. Building such a government requires efficient individuals, and we hope people will choose those who can achieve this goal.”
Concluding his remarks, he said: “Today we are shifting from power struggles toward state-building efforts. It is indeed crucial to expedite forming the government and selecting leadership bodies to meet the people’s expectations and serve them effectively.”
