Iraqi Prime Minister: Broad Public Participation Is a Step to Protect the Constitution

According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Iraq’s official news agency (INA), Prime Minister Mohammed al-Sudani declared that the iraqi people have taken another important step in protecting their constitutional and democratic framework, with parliamentary election turnout surpassing 55 percent.
He added, “This achievement marks a further success in restoring citizens’ trust, which remains at the core of our government’s agenda.”
The Iraqi Electoral Commission announced earlier that after processing results from 99.7 percent of polling stations, voter participation had exceeded 55 percent.
According to the commission’s report,out of 21,406,291 eligible voters across Iraq,12,003,143 cast their ballots. This confirms that overall voter turnout was above 55 percent in this election.
