Iraqi Prime Minister: Broad Public Participation Is a Step to Protect the Constitution

In response to the high voter turnout in Iraq, the Prime Minister stated that participation exceeding 55 percent represents a step toward safeguarding the⁤ country’s constitution.

According ⁤to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr ⁢News Agency and Iraq’s official news agency (INA), Prime Minister Mohammed al-Sudani declared that the iraqi people have taken another important step in protecting ⁢their constitutional and ‍democratic framework, with parliamentary election turnout ​surpassing 55​ percent.

He added, “This achievement marks ⁤a further‍ success in restoring citizens’ trust, which remains at⁢ the core of our ‍government’s agenda.”

The Iraqi Electoral⁤ Commission announced earlier that after processing results from 99.7 percent of⁤ polling stations, voter‍ participation had exceeded 55 percent.

According to the commission’s report,out of 21,406,291 eligible voters across Iraq,12,003,143 cast their ​ballots.⁢ This confirms that overall voter​ turnout was above 55 percent‍ in this election.
