Voting Conducted with Unprecedented Success and High Transparency
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, quoting the official Iraqi news agency (INA), General Qais Al-Mohammedi, head of Iraq’s High Electoral Security Committee, confirmed that the 2025 parliamentary elections were carried out with great transparency and order. The process achieved unprecedented success across security, technical, and operational dimensions.
He also reported more than 132 violations recorded that did not affect the election results. Al-Mohammedi emphasized that the transfer of electronic memories,ballot boxes,and electoral materials to warehouses in Baghdad will continue until this morning.
In a statement to INA, Al-Mohammedi said all polling stations closed nationwide at 6 p.m. on Tuesday. Iraqi security forces professionally fulfilled their role in securing the election process.
He added that transferring ballot boxes and electoral materials began at 8 p.m., following vote counting, manual verification of ballots, and handing over result tapes to representatives of political groups.
Al-Mohammedi noted that the first phase of the security plan concluded calmly and transparently.
He stated there were no technical failures or interruptions reported in transmission devices for sending or receiving data.
the head of Iraq’s electoral security committee reminded that the High Electoral Commission will announce preliminary results by Wednesday evening at latest.The security committee is also responsible for ensuring all materials are moved to storage facilities by Wednesday morning.
al-Mohammedi praised extensive efforts by Iraqi security,military,and intelligence forces in securing elections and professionally addressing violations. He reiterated that even though over 132 infractions were recorded,none impacted election outcomes.
he affirmed there were no security incidents reported-no travel bans nor airport or border closures-which indicates a successful implementation of the security plan. This has made these elections one of the most successful in Iraq’s history.
