Guterres: Iraq’s Parliamentary Election a Crucial Step Toward Stability

According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing mehr News Agency adn Anadolu, António Guterres praised Iraq’s parliamentary elections and commended the Self-reliant High Electoral Commission for conducting them smoothly and successfully.
In a statement released by his spokesperson, he said: “The elections were held in a calm and orderly environment. We hope all political groups will respect the law and electoral process until the results are announced.”
He stressed the importance of quickly and peacefully forming a new government, adding, “These elections reflect the will of the iraqi people to achieve stability and development.”
The Iraqi Electoral Commission reported that over 12 million voters-including security forces and displaced persons-participated in the parliamentary elections,with a turnout exceeding 55 percent. Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ Al Sudani also described these elections as “an important step toward stability and progress for the country.”
