Venezuela on Alert as US Attack on Caracas Becomes More Likely

The English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency, reported that the American newspaper The Washington Post noted the arrival of the aircraft carrier USS Gerald R. ford in Caribbean waters. According to the report, Venezuela has placed all it’s armed forces on high alert.
The U.S. media outlet interpreted the growing American military presence near venezuela’s borders as a sign of escalating chances for expanded U.S. military operations in the Caribbean Sea. It added that Washington might target Venezuelan military bases and airports.
Although U.S. officials have stated that their increased deployment intends to combat drug trafficking, Latin American leaders-including Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro-have called on all regional countries to prepare for any potential U.S. provocations.
