Al-Shaibani: Israel Plays Negative Role in Syria

According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency from Riyadh, Asaad Al-Sheibani, foreign minister of the government affiliated with Julani in Syria, said at a London research institute meeting: “We do not seek to play a proxy role in any war.We aim to avoid tension with Israel and eliminate Tel Aviv’s claims of being under threat.”
He added, “We view any agreement with Israel through the lens of rebuilding Syria. Many international parties support our political stance on Israeli aggressions.”
Al-Sheibani emphasized, ”We absolutely reject any partitioning of Syria. Currently, Israel plays a negative role in Syria, is dissatisfied with recent developments, and continues its aggressions against our country. However, we have refrained from escalating tensions and have sought to respond diplomatically.”
He stated that the developments in Suwayda province and Syrian coastal areas stemmed from actions by forces aligned with the former regime and that Israeli interventions worsened the situation.
Al-Sheibani also referred to upcoming presidential elections in Syria within four to five years.
