Military Options Against Venezuela Presented to Trump

According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency, CBS reported that senior U.S. military officials presented updated options for potential operations in Venezuela to President Donald Trump at the White House on Wednesday.
The report stated that General Hegst and other top military leaders outlined various operational plans, including ground assaults in Venezuela, during a meeting with Trump on Wednesday.
The American newspaper The Washington Post noted yesterday that with the arrival of the USS Gerald R. Ford aircraft carrier in Caribbean waters, Venezuela has placed all its armed forces on high alert.
The outlet assessed that the increased U.S. military presence near Venezuela’s borders signals a rising likelihood of expanded American military action in the Caribbean Sea and suggested Washington might target Venezuelan military bases and airports.
Even though U.S. officials have claimed thier enhanced presence aims to combat drug trafficking, Latin American leaders-including Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro-have called for all countries in the region to prepare for any U.S. provocations.
