Venezuela Foreign Minister: US Military Actions Constitute Heinous Killings

According to the English section of webangah News Agency, quoting Mehr News Agency, Venezuelan Foreign Minister Iván Gil Pinto stated during the “Jurists in Defense of International Law” meeting that all principles of international law, as we know them, are currently being violated.
The foreign minister described U.S. military actions as heinous killings and emphasized that no crimes have been established against the victims of these attacks.
He asserted that those who ordered and carried out attacks on ships bear criminal obligation and said the United States’ assaults in the Caribbean Sea threaten not only Venezuela but all humanity and the United Nations system.
Pinto dismissed any bilateral conflict with the U.S., adding: “We have no dispute with America. We are a free and independent nation defending ourselves against unilateral aggression by a nuclear power.”
He characterized U.S. measures against Venezuela as attempts to suppress a free peopel and plunder its resources and confirmed that political, defensive, human rights, and legal steps will be pursued at the United Nations.
