Arab and Islamic Countries Back Gaza Ceasefire Draft Resolution

Arab and Islamic countries have expressed support for the US draft ⁢resolution calling for a ⁢ceasefire in Gaza.

According to the English section of webangah News ‌Agency,citing⁣ Mehr News Agency and Al-Sharq news network,Saudi Arabia,Egypt,Qatar,the United Arab⁢ Emirates,Indonesia,Pakistan,Jordan,and Turkey issued ⁤a joint statement⁤ expressing their support for the⁤ revised⁣ US draft resolution on Gaza at the ⁤UN Security Council.

At⁤ the end of their statement, these Arab and Islamic nations ‌expressed hope that⁣ the ‌resolution would‍ be ‌approved as soon‍ as possible.

On Wednesday evening, the US mission to the United ‍Nations submitted ⁣its draft resolution concerning a peace delegation and the formation of ⁣an international force to stabilize Gaza to permanent members of the​ Security Council.

The draft calls for resuming humanitarian ⁤aid access to ‍gaza ⁤in coordination with‌ the United Nations. It proposes establishing an international ⁤force under ‍unified command tasked with enforcing peace in⁢ Gaza.

This international force would collaborate with Egypt⁤ and Israel ‍to oversee disarmament efforts and protect civilians.

the draft also authorizes a peace council ⁣to create temporary executive committees responsible for managing civil affairs in Gaza. Additionally, it invites international banks and food-supporting parties to establish a fund dedicated to rebuilding Gaza.

The ‍proposed resolution emphasizes Israel’s phased‍ withdrawal ⁣from Gaza according‍ to disarmament‍ standards. It stresses​ maintaining security forces around Gaza until‍ all threats are ⁢neutralized.

Moreover, it permits extending operations of the Peace Council‍ in Gaza‍ until 2027 based on⁢ certain conditions set by ⁢the Security Council. The draft encourages governments and ‌organizations to ⁤assist in selecting council ‍members for Gaza’s Peace‌ Council and financing its activities.

It also underscores that ⁣governance by Gazan ⁤Peace Council will adhere strictly to principles of international law. Clear conditions are outlined regarding Israel’s troop withdrawal from ‍Gaza Strip as⁢ well.
