What Happened in the Damascus Explosion?

Local Syrian sources reported that a missile struck a residential building west of Damascus, ⁢injuring one woman.

According⁤ to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency ⁣and Al Mayadeen network, local sources in Damascus stated that a missile hit ​a three-story ⁣building in the Ain al-Kroum neighborhood of the Mezzeh 86 ‌district in Syria’s capital.

meanwhile, Syrian Al-Ikhbariya network quoted a security source affiliated with the Jolani regime as ⁣saying​ that ​an explosion‍ occured when unidentified individuals attacked a residence in Damascus’s Mezzeh area, injuring one woman.

The official Syrian news agency SANA also cited​ a military source linked to the Jolani‌ regime who reported that attacks targeting certain areas of Damascus were carried out using missiles ​fired from a mobile launcher.

The source added that the identity of​ those behind the attack remains unknown at this time.

Separately, according to an Al Jazeera correspondent, the targeted area in ​Damascus is entirely civilian and includes residential buildings as⁤ well as diplomatic ‌offices.

The attack took ​place while Syria’s Ministry of Interior continued ongoing security operations⁣ across the capital.

The correspondent further reported that following the ‍attack, Syrian internal security forces ⁢established an extensive security cordon around the incident site.

Security agencies have fully sealed off and taken control over the area where this attack occurred.
