Indonesia Agrees to Deploy 20,000 Peacekeepers to Gaza

Indonesia’s Defense Minister announced the ⁤country is ⁣ready to deploy 20,000 peacekeepers to gaza.

According to⁤ the English section⁤ of webangah News Agency, quoting Mehr News Agency and Al⁤ Jazeera, Indonesia’s Ministry of Defense stated that‍ the country is prepared to⁤ send up‌ to 20,000 troops to gaza⁣ to maintain ⁢peace in the region.

Defense Minister Jaffari Shamsuddin said if deployed, Indonesian forces would mainly carry out medical missions,⁢ reconstruction efforts, and humanitarian aid.

The proclamation coincides with⁢ Jordanian King Abdullah II’s official⁤ visit to Jakarta and his⁤ talks with Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto concerning Donald Trump’s 20-point plan for Gaza’s future.

Under Trump’s proposal, a‌ multinational force would‌ be stationed‍ in Gaza to enforce a ceasefire.

The United States⁢ has consulted⁢ several ‌countries-including Indonesia, Egypt, Azerbaijan, the United Arab Emirates, and Qatar-about participating in ⁤this force. Israel opposes Turkey’s involvement in​ this framework.

The composition, authority, and mandate of the international ceasefire stabilization force in Gaza remain unclear.
