Trump Rejects BBC Apology, Increases Compensation Claim

According to the english section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and The Guardian, despite the British broadcaster BBC issuing an apology for editing one of President Donald Trump’s speeches, he told reporters he will pursue legal action.
Trump said to reporters: “We will problably sue them next week and seek between one and five billion dollars in damages.”
The U.S. president mentioned a five-billion-dollar claim even though Trump’s lawyers had previously threatened to file a one-billion-dollar lawsuit against BBC if they failed to apologize and compensate for the damage.
The BBC has stated it will not pay compensation to the U.S. president for distorting his speech.
BBC’s lawyers rejected the damage claim, writing: “Although BBC sincerely regrets how the video clip was edited, this does not justify filing a defamation claim.”
