900 Die in Gaza Due to Delayed Medical Services

According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr news Agency and Shihab News Agency, the World Health Organization reported that over 900 patients in Gaza awaiting exit for medical treatment have died.
The statement added that 16,500 patients in Gaza are still waiting for travel approval, including 4,000 children who require urgent evacuation.
The organization warned that delays in allowing critical cases to leave Gaza amount to death sentences.
Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, WHO Director-General, called for the immediate reopening of all crossings and unrestricted passage for medical and humanitarian purposes both into and out of Gaza.
Closed crossings and obstacles to patient movement have caused a collapse of health conditions and worsened severe cases.
As May 2024, WHO has conducted 119 patient evacuation missions, successfully transferring 8,000 patients-including 5,500 children-out of Gaza.
Hospitals in Gaza are operating at less than half capacity due to shortages of medicine, fuel, and essential equipment.
The organization is cooperating with local and international bodies to rebuild the healthcare system severely damaged by war.
