Gaza Flooded Two Hours After Rainfall; Half a Million Refugees Need Tents

According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al Jazeera, the Civil Defense spokesperson in Gaza reported that entire families have drowned due to heavy rainfall. He described the conditions in Gaza as severe and catastrophic.
In an interview with Al Jazeera, Mahmoud Bassal said: “We lack the capacity to handle the disastrous consequences of rain in Gaza. As temperatures drop, residents will face even tougher days ahead.”
He stressed: “The city of Gaza was completely flooded within two hours after the rain began. We are now living through circumstances worse than war. The tents are overcrowded and essentially uninhabitable.”
The local official added: “The international community must provide shelter to protect Gaza’s inhabitants from the effects of rainfall. Residents need half a million tents, and we don’t understand why their delivery has been delayed. The world needs to grasp how serious this situation is because Gaza is facing an unprecedented disaster.”
