Thousands of Zionists Protest in the Heart of Occupied Territories
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Ma’an, thousands of Israelis yesterday protested in Tel Aviv, the center of the occupied territories, calling for a fact-finding committee to investigate Operation Al-Aqsa Storm and related incidents, including the capture of dozens of Israelis.
The demonstrations took place one day before an Israeli cabinet meeting scheduled to discuss forming this committee.
Simultaneously occurring, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had previously opposed establishing such a committee during a parliamentary session, claiming that most Israelis disagreed with this move.
However, recent polls in the occupied territories show that 60 percent of Israelis support forming this committee. Last week, Israel’s Supreme Court issued a ruling calling for this issue to be addressed at the cabinet meeting.
