Egyptian Official Details Three Missions of International Forces in Gaza

According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Russia Today, Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdulatty emphasized in an interview with a Turkish-language network that the international forces’ mission in Gaza will include monitoring ceasefire implementation, overseeing humanitarian aid deliveries, and preparing the ground for reconstruction efforts.
He added, “Ultimately, we want to reach a political consensus aimed at establishing an independent Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.”
Abdulatty also stated that subsequent steps following the ceasefire must include forming a temporary Palestinian committee to govern Gaza.
This comes amid some regional countries voicing opposition to deploying forces in Gaza due to uncertainties about their structure and mandate. Nonetheless, Indonesia’s Defense Minister announced yesterday that his country is prepared to send up to 20,000 troops to help maintain peace in gaza.
