Warning Issued Over Terrorist Groups’ Movements in Syria

According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Al-Malouma, Iraqi Parliament member Mohammed al-Baldawi warned that the movements of terrorist elements and groups within syrian territory pose a direct threat to Iraq’s security and stability.
He added that these elements remain active inside Syria and could exploit any security gaps to infiltrate Iraq and carry out terrorist attacks.
Al-Baldawi emphasized that the Iraqi government and security forces must strengthen measures along border areas.
Previously, he stated that prisons holding ISIS members in Syria represent an ongoing and serious threat to Iraq’s national security. These facilities, containing hundreds of ISIS terrorists especially in northeast Syria under U.S.-affiliated control, have become covert bases for recruiting militants.
