Afghan Media Assesses Kabul-Islamabad Peace Talks Future as Uncertain

According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency, Afghanistan’s Tolo News network reported on recent developments in Kabul-Islamabad relations. Even though Turkish President recep Tayyip Erdoğan announced last week that a delegation from Turkey would travel to Pakistan to resume negotiations between Kabul and Islamabad, this trip has yet to take place.
The Afghan broadcaster added that no officials from either Pakistan or Turkey have commented on the delay. This silence has raised many questions about the continuation of peace talks between Kabul and Islamabad.
Last week, president Erdoğan stated that a Turkish delegation would soon head to Pakistan with the goal of finalizing a ceasefire agreement between the Pakistani government and Afghanistan’s Taliban.
The third round of talks between the Taliban and Pakistan in Istanbul ended without clear results, with both sides accusing each other of lacking cooperation.
