Fidan: Trump Ordered Turkey Sanctions Lifted

According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Anadolu Agency, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan saeid in an interview that Turkey is ready to fully assume duty regarding Gaza and will carry out its duties seriously in all areas, including deploying military forces. He described this as their clearest message to the international community on the matter.
Fidan discussed his recent trip to the United States, stating that during meetings there, key issues affecting both countries and the region, as well as global peace and stability, were revisited. He emphasized that developing mutual understanding and coordination is necessary to better protect and advance Turkey’s interests.
The minister noted that discussions wiht White House officials covered topics such as Syria, Palestine, and Ukraine.
Referring to a conversation between President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and then-President Donald Trump at the White House on September 25th regarding the Countering America’s Adversaries Through Sanctions Act (CAATSA), Fidan revealed that Trump expressed his readiness and stated CAATSA should not stand between them but must be lifted. Furthermore, Trump instructed his administration to cancel these sanctions.
