Seventh Consultative Summit of Central Asian Leaders Held in Uzbekistan

The seventh Consultative Summit of Central Asian countries took place in Tashkent, Uzbekistan’s capital, with the participation of the presidents of Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, and Azerbaijan.
shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of Uzbekistan, announced at the summit’s opening that the leaders agreed to grant full membership to Azerbaijan within the framework of the Central Asian Consultative Summit.
calling this decision historic, mirziyoyev emphasized that Azerbaijan’s inclusion will enhance trade, economic cooperation, investment opportunities, cultural ties, and sustainable development. He added it would breathe new life into the consultative process among Central Asian countries.
Mirziyoyev described this summit as the start of a new phase in regional integration. He noted that over recent years these nations have moved from dialog to genuine partnership.
The Uzbek president further stated that borders have opened and cooperation in energy, transportation, and trade has expanded with many regional issues resolved. He proposed transforming this summit into a permanent institution named the Central Asia Community with an established secretariat as well as a council of elders and special envoys.
