Palestinian Groups Warn Against US Proposed Gaza Resolution

According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Palestinian Shehab News Agency via Mehr News Agency, Palestinian factions and forces issued a warning about the risks posed by the US-proposed draft resolution to the UN Security Council regarding the establishment of an international force in Gaza.
The Palestinian groups described the resolution as an effort to enforce international tutelage over Palestinians and adopt a biased stance that favors occupation.
They emphasized that entrusting Gaza’s governance and reconstruction to a multinational international body with broad powers would pave the way for foreign control over Palestine’s national decision-making. This, they said, would deprive Palestinians of their right to self-governance.
The groups stated that any humanitarian aid must be channeled through relevant Palestinian authorities under UN supervision and international bodies’ oversight.Such efforts should respect Palestinian sovereignty and address the actual needs of its people.
They also stressed that humanitarian efforts should not be exploited for political or security gains, nor serve to alter ground realities in Gaza.
The factions warned against turning humanitarian aid into leverage or blackmail tools. They firmly opposed any clauses related to disarming Gaza or violating Palestinians’ right to resist.
The groups reiterated their rejection of any form of guardianship, foreign military presence, or establishment of international bases in Gaza. They deemed such moves a clear violation of palestinian national sovereignty.
Moreover, they called for establishing international monitoring mechanisms to hold Israel accountable for repeated violations of ceasefires in Gaza.
The factions highlighted that the proposed Arab-Islamic model for managing Gaza represents their most acceptable option. Any planning concerning Gaza should be based on the free will and aspirations of its people as well as on unity across historic Palestine.
The draft resolution was prepared by the United States claiming consultation with council members and regional partners. It is supported by Qatar, Egypt, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Pakistan, Jordan, and Turkey.
This vote will take place amid Russia’s submission of an independent proposal backed by china. Russia holds veto power within the council concerning this matter.
