Ammar Hakim: Iraq Must Serve as a Bridge Between East and West

The ⁣head of Iraq’s National ⁤Wisdom Movement stated at the Middle East Peace ‍Forum: Iraq must‍ serve as a bridge between‍ East and West, not ‍as a battleground for settling scores. Dialog is the only path to ‍regional stability.

Ammar Hakim, leader of Iraq’s National Wisdom Movement, highlighted the ‍recent parliamentary elections’ success during the sixth middle East Peace and Security Forum held in Duhok. He‌ described the elections as evidence ⁢of Iraqi citizens’ commitment to their political system and their determination ⁢to pursue development through democratic⁢ mechanisms,⁣ according to webangah‍ news Agency.

Hakim emphasized that widespread voter participation increases the obligation on political forces to‌ quickly form a strong, inclusive government that genuinely represents all segments of society.

He called these elections a⁤ crucial opportunity ‌and urged all groups⁤ not to miss it.

Addressing regional security, Hakim stressed that security is not solely military but encompasses coordinated elements such‌ as social justice, closing divides,⁣ respecting national sovereignty, human development, and economic partnerships.

Despite past challenges,Hakim asserted that Iraq is now ready to ⁢restore ⁤its ⁣regional and international role.He noted that Iraqi youth possess energy and motivation but require‍ support ⁣to transform their potential into development projects rather than losing it through migration or despair.

Hakim identified dialogue ⁤as the sole‍ option for reducing tensions and achieving lasting stability. He reiterated that Iraq should act as a bridge ⁢between East and West rather than a venue for settling conflicts.

He outlined three basic pillars for realizing this goal: “inclusive⁣ national identity,”⁣ “genuine ⁢institutional reform,” and “lasting development based on economic diversification.”

Regarding relations between‌ Baghdad and erbil, Hakim stressed they must be grounded in constitutional partnership and ⁤frank dialogue because any tension affects all of Iraq.

The National Wisdom‌ Movement leader also addressed threats posed by climate change in the region. He called for developing a⁢ unified ⁣strategy against droughts, water shortages, and climate impacts while ⁣warning ‍no stability or development can endure if vital resources are lost.

Hakim praised the forum‌ organizers while emphasizing ⁤that dialogue represents a strategic choice. Security and stability depend on leaders‌ deciding peace and moderation are humanity’s only viable future path.
