Islamic Jihad: Israel’s Claims Justifying Attack on Lebanon Are Baseless
The spokesperson of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, Mohammad Al-Haj Mousa, condemned the Israeli regime’s strike on the Ain al-Hilweh camp in southern Lebanon.
he stated that attacking a densely populated area, which resulted in deaths and injuries among Palestinians, is part of Israel’s ongoing policy of aggression against Palestinians in Gaza, the West Bank, and abroad.
Al-Haj Mousa added that Israel’s claims to justify this crime are unfounded and serve only to legitimize direct targeting of civilians.
He emphasized that the Israeli occupation must bear full responsibility for the consequences of this aggression, which poses serious risks to palestine and the entire region.
A few hours earlier, Israeli forces launched a drone strike against Ain al-Hilweh camp in Sidon city, southern Lebanon. The attack killed 13 people and wounded several others.
Israel claimed it targeted a Hamas training center within Ain al-Hilweh.Hamas rejected this assertion and said Israel had actually hit a sports field.
In recent days, Israel has repeatedly violated ceasefires by striking various locations inside Lebanon.
