Vitakaf to Meet Khalil al-Hayya in Istanbul Soon
According too the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and the Israeli newspaper Times of Israel, Steve Gutman, the U.S. Special Envoy for Palestinian Affairs, will meet on Wednesday in Istanbul with a delegation of senior Hamas officials led by Khalil al-Hayya to discuss maintaining the ceasefire in Gaza.
The Israeli outlet quoted an anonymous Arab diplomat stating this will be Gutman’s second meeting with al-Hayya.prior to signing the ceasefire on October 10, Gutman and Jared kushner, senior advisor to the U.S. President, met with Hamas negotiators in Egypt-a key step toward finalizing the agreement.
Times of Israel claimed that gutman’s aim in meeting al-Hayya is to persuade Palestinian resistance leaders to disarm.
The Palestinian resistance has declared it will never lay down its arms until achieving Palestine’s goals.
